How to clear clogs on an eufy x8 Pro robot vacuum

We've had a eufy x8 Pro self-emptying vacuum for almost a year now, and it is a fantastic piece of kit. It requires bags for the self-emptying feature, which I don't love, but it makes up for it in every possible way.  With the self-emptying I don't have to remember to empty the bin, the mapping feature lets it reliably home and charge.  Until this week it has 'just worked', which is the highest praise I can give a robot.

Unfortunately, this week, it started pooping, leaving little piles of dirt randomly.  I assumed the problem was that it had some kind of clog, so I did the basics. I changed the bag, didn't fix it. I checked the roller, but that wasn't it.  As a sidebar, they're doing some kind of magic with the roller on this.  It wasn't absolutely cocooned in little bits of string and hair.  HOW?  IDK.  Anyway.  I expected it to be absolutely packed, but there was none.

There was a little bit of hair built up around the front roller, but not bad.  So why is it pooping?  Hmm. Time for surgery.  I fixed it, and here's what I learned.

The places it can get clogged are:

At the brush.  Flip it over, release the two tabs, pop the brush cover off, and pull the schmoo out.
As I said, this was clear.

Going to the dust bin.  Dirt goes from the brush, through a little chute, into the dust bin.  To access the dust bin, face the robot away from you.

Open the hatch.

Pop the latch and remove the bin.  Look in this area.  This is the duct from the brush.  Mine was clear.

Pop the latch on the bin and open it.  There is a filter.  This is a maintenance part. Amazon sells it and you can replace it when it clogs.  Mine was not clogged up, so that's not it.

It's notable that there was something odd about my filter.  It had cat hair on TOP of the filter.  This is a clue. :D

The last place it can clog was not immediately obvious.  Back in the vacuum, these two little ducts lead to the suction motors.

Looking in there, I thought I saw that each had a small circular brown filter on them.  Ah-ha! They must be clogged, right?  I grabbed some chopsticks and pulled them out.  Eww icky icky, THOSE ARE NOT FILTERS.  They were thick layers of cat fur that had weaseled past the bin filter and piled up on top of the motors blocking the airflow.  I pulled them out and it works like new again. All better.

This vacuum is 10/10.  Don't let this write-up scare you off.  We have a ludicrous number of cats and, aside from this, it has just worked.  That's awesome.  Highly recommend.
